How to decide your 2010 Resolutions..

Here is how you can make good New Year’s Resolutions.
As we begin a new year we get a new opportunity to have a fresh beginning. Some of us take this for granted, but the real power comes when we take the full advantage of this opportunity. By setting up good 2010 resolutions and following through will ensure that you make 2010, your best year ever.
Here are the three key steps to set good New Year resolutions:

1. Decide what you really want

Take a piece of paper and write down what you actually want to accomplish in 2010. Make sure these are the dreams that you really want to live in and not just fantasies. Don’t write down going on a trip to Thailand, if you never intend to go there. Be honest with yourself. If you write down nothing, you will probably end up achieving nothing.

2. Set S.M.A.R.T. goals

Many people set ambiguous New Year’s resolutions. Goals such as ‘have more money’ or ‘lose weight’, do not have any meaning or power. They are too general and too broad to even begin with. Make sure your goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time Bound.
A good New Year resolution will be ‘I will each $2000 of passive income per month by August 2010′. That goal has exact numbers, a deadline and is attainable for many people who are willing to put some effort.

3. Measure your success

Just writing down your 2010 resolutions and perfecting them will not bring your dreams to life. You must be willing to take action change your course as required. If you must drive from New York to Washington and see few road blocks, will you change your route or will you give up? Keep the end goal in your mind and not how you achieve it.
You must measure your progress for your 2010 resolutions to succeed. Many people will set their new year’s resolutions on January 1st and then they check them again on December 31st. You can improve the odds of reaching your dreams by 52 times if you measure your progress and adjust your approach every week.
In closing, set your 2010 new year’s resolutions not because everyone else does, but because you really want to make a difference in your life, and in the lives of others.
